Creation of
"Sunlit"
fine art engraving
A comparison of the plate before and after inking. The first artist's proof.
- You can get a nice gradation of tone (as in an atmospheric
effect) by the way you wipe the plate....less ink wiped off will result
in a darker tone.
- At times I will wipe a small area with a cotton swab or my
fingertip for highlights.
This is the first artist's proof printed on paper using burnt umber colored
ink, notice how the image is reversed after printing.
