"In Wildness"

"This engraving was inspired by the famous quote attributed to Henry David Thoreau, 'In Wildness is the preservation of the world.'

An interesting detail I found in researching Thoreau was that he and Ralph Waldo Emerson were influenced by Emerson's aunt, Mary Moody Emerson. There is more about Ms. Emerson on this Women's History website."
