From inking the plate to the finished engraving.
Cleaning
the edges of the plate.
After the plate has been wiped to the artist's satisfaction,
every edge is carefully cleaned of excess ink with a fresh paper towel until
no more ink shows on the paper.
This prevents a unwanted line from showing around the edge of the printed engraving.
